IndieWire critic David Ehrlich equally gushed over the movie in his evaluation. “Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” – a crackling, devious, and massively satisfying old-school whodunnit with a contemporary twist – needs you to know that it takes place on the planet of right this moment. Actually, it needs you to know that it needs you to know. Hardly a minute goes by with out some reference to the right here and now of all of it. When legendary crime novelist Harlan Thrombey is discovered useless the morning after his 85th birthday, it’s as if the previous dies with him and the current comes speeding in to interchange it, keen to assert the inheritance to which it all the time felt entitled.”
