Focusing on the aftermath of the catastrophic Boxing Day tsunami in 2004. A British couple (Chiwetel Ejiofor and Sophie Okonedo) who have lost their daughter, a hard-bitten newswire (Tim Roth) rediscovering his vocation, a Thai survivor (Samrit Machielsen) fighting for his land, an aid worker (Toni Collette) trying and failing to manage an impossible situation, a mother (Gina McKee) fighting to get her injured son back to the UK - an emotive, thought-provoking piece, using deeply personal stories to ask what lessons can be learned from this devastating natural disaster.
