A fan’s greatest gift is when old and unseen interviews surface, and this has happened with these incredible video clips from the Australian programme “The Movie Show”.

First, there’s a report on the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, where “Muriel’s Wedding” had its world-premiere, featuring interviews with P.J. Hogan and Toni Collette, who was 21 at that time. Then, a 1997 interview with Toni and director David Parker on the release of the ill-fated “Diana and Me”. A 1999 interview with Toni to promote the Australian release of “The Sixth Sense”, as well as a report on the theatrical release of “Japanese Story”. Finally, as a special treat, “The Movie Show” paid a visit to the set of “Muriel’s Wedding” in 1994. This footage was also used for the making of which was later included on the DVD, but this report features an array of additional footage and interviews with the cast and crew, including P.J, Toni, Rachel Griffith and Bill Hunter. Very insightful material and definately a must-see. Enjoy the new clips.

The “Mental” promotion is in full force with several new interviews being broadcast on Australian television. Two, from Sunrise on 7 and The Age, have been added to the video archive. A first clip from the film, in which Shaz teaches the Moochmore girls about the Australian history – and how to deal with bullies, has been added as well, alongside a compilation of television spots to release the Australian release. All clips can be found in the video archive.

As reported, Australia’s 60 Minutes has profiled Toni Collette on its current episode with a very nice interview, scenes from “Mental” and a trip down the memory lane with director P.J. Hogan at a screening of “Muriel’s Wedding”. The profile can be watched in the video archive, captures have been added to the image library.

Screencaptures of Toni’s guest appearance as the Premier of New South Wales in ABC’s “Rake” have been added to the gallery. This was a very funny and racy performance, of which I hope we will see more in the coming episodes.

Here’s a quick catch-up with the episode: Cleaver’s (Richard Roxburgh) affair with the Premier (Toni Collette) proves to be costly when her husband, Attorney-General Cal McGregor (Damien Garvey) begins a campaign of harassment against him. And not only is David Potter (Matt Day) suing him for defamation, but, after the clown punch-up at seven-year-old Max’s birthday party, he’s lost Barney (Russell Dykstra) as a friend and colleague as well. Additionally, three video clips from the episode have been added to the video archive.

Toni Collette will be featured in the next instalment of the legal drama series “Rake”, which premieres on September 6, 2012 on ABC. Toni guest stars as the Premier of NSW, a character that has her working opposite Matt Day as the Shadow Attorney General, the first time the pair have shared the screen since “Muriel’s Wedding”. “Rake”, stars Richard Roxburgh, who previously worked with Toni on the 2006 thriller “Like Minds”. Unfortunately there’s no information so far if Toni will appear in only one or more episodes – but I’m sure the following pictures and preview trailer will keep you excited until there’s more information. Also, additional features can be found at the series’ official website.
