The Commonwealth Bank’s CAN’T campaign has morphed into CAN, changing its tag line and aiming to highlight the attitude the bank’s employees bring to the workplace. The spot aims to be fresh, upbeat, optimistic and convey an empowering message. The 60” TVC airing across all networks features actress Toni Collette speaking directly to camera, delivering the message behind the campaign underpinned by the poem Ode to Can, written by M&C Saatchi creative director Andy Fleming. Thanks to Rebecca for the heads-up!

Toni made a surprise appearance on television, promoting “Jesus Henry Christ” on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. After briefly talking about the film, the interview circled mostly about Australia – various Australian bars – and their children. This has been Toni’s fourth appearance on Craig Ferguson’s show – she first appeared in 2005 to promote “In her Shoes”, then in 2006 to promote “Little Miss Sunshine” and in 2009 for the release of “United States of Tara”. The full interview can be watched in the video archive, HD screencaptures have been added to the image library.

Here comes a real treasure from the past. In April 1996, Toni Collette attended Late Night with Conan O’Brien to promote the US release of “Muriel’s Wedding”. She talks about making the film, attending the Academy Awards for the first time and meeting Madonna, as well as the American cultural influence on Australian television. It’s a very funny interview and great to see Toni at such an early stage of her career. Credit and many thanks to mjp3210 on Youtube for uploading this gem. Enjoy!

Here comes a very rare treat, thanks to the folks at Entertainment Tonight. In 1995, they interviewed Toni on the streets of New York while being in the city to promote “Muriel’s Wedding”. She shares her thoughts on the Big Apple, asks for a price at Tiffany’s and bumps into her co-star Rachel Griffith. The interview can be watched in the video archive.
