As previously reported, “Knives Out” has been released on-demand last week and will bow on home-video next week. In a noteworthy feat for an original title, Rian Johnson’s whodunnit Knives Out has reached the $300 million mark at the worldwide box office. Knives Out’s domestic total through Monday stands at $159.1 million, with an international tally of $140.9 million. From Lionsgate and MRC, Knives Out has shown remarkable staying power since bowing in North America on Nov. 21, the beginning of the lucrative Thanksgiving corridor. When it concludes its theatrical run, the pic will be among the 10 top-grossing films ever released over Thanksgiving, according to Lionsgate. Overseas, top-performing territories to date include China ($28.4 million), followed by the U.K. ($16.8 million), Germany ($9.7 million), Australia ($9.3 million) and France ($8.2 million and counting). Screencaptures from the film, as well as its making of, on-set interview and deleted scenes, have been added to the photo gallery.

Better late than never, I have managed to add all promotional videos and photoshoots from last week’s Sundance Film Festival to the archives. It’s a lot! Euros Lyn, the director of “Dream Horse”, and Toni Collette have visited all the relevant studio sites for interviews on the film, the Oscars and working in Wales. The film has received very positive and well-meaning reviews so far (The Hollywood Reporter gave the film “every chance of sprinting to victory at the box office finish line […] crowned by the reliably excellent Toni Collette”, which is a great barometer ahead of its April release in the United Kingdom. For a complete list of all added material, have a look at the list below.

After her Golden Globe-nominated role in Netflix’s “Unbelievable” series, Toni Collette will return to the streaming platform to star in a series adaptation of “Pieces of Her”, the thriller novel from author Karin Slaughter. The eight-episode drama will see Collette as Laura, who may seem like the pillar of the community in her small Georgian town, but one trip to the mall explodes into violence and reveals Laura has been lying low for years in the hopes no one would recognize her former identity. The violence and revelations compels her daughter, 30-year-old Andy, on a journey across America to unravel more secrets. “There’s a moment as an adult when you realize that your parents were actual human beings before you were born, and that they had lives. I think a lot of kids cope with that information by ignoring all of it,” Slaughter previously told EW of her book. “They don’t want to know that I was this horrible teenager and I treated my mom like sh— and I actually hurt her feelings, and there are real-life ramifications for hurting another human being.” This is a much different role for Collette than Detective Grace Rasmussen, who investigated a serial rapist with Merrit Wever’s Detective Karen Duvall in Unbelievable. Collette had also previously featured in the ensemble cast of Velvet Buzzsaw, which also found its distribution home on Netflix. She is currently filming a role in Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley, which stars Cate Blanchett and Bradley Cooper. Charlotte Stoudt, a co-executive producer on Fosse/Verdon, wrote the series adaptation and serves as showrunner. Minkie Spiro (The Plot Against America) will direct all eight episodes, while Lesli Linka Glatter and Bruna Papandrea also executive produce. Deadline was the first to report the news.

Toni Collette is returning to Park City this year with Dream Horse, an inspiring underdog film based on a true story, as Entertainment Weekly reports. The Oscar-nominated actress, who won a Critics’ Choice Award earlier this year for her turn in Netflix’s Unbelievable, stars as Jan Vokes, a bartender struggling to find meaning in her life, in the anticipated Sundance premiere. One night, a chance encounter with an arrogant customer, Howard Davies (Damian Lewis), a former racehorse syndicate leader, inspires her to take on a new challenge. Despite her parents’ skepticism, Jan recruits neighbors and barflies alike into a crazy scheme to contribute to a community fund and breed a racehorse. EW can debut an exclusive clip from the film in which Collette’s Jan and a team around her watch the Dream Horse in action. “It’s got spirit,” Jan is told. “Character.” “Making Dream Horse was a truly wonderful experience,” Collette tells EW. “It has the biggest heart of any film I have ever been a part of. I can’t wait to see it with an audience at Sundance.” Directed by Euros Lyn (Kiri), Dream Horse takes the subject of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival feature Dark Horse. The film marks the Park City return of Sundance regular Collette; some of her biggest past hits at the festival include Oscar winner Little Miss Sunshine and A24 sensation Hereditary.
