Lionsgate Films have revealed that they are planning a Blu-ray release of Todd Haynes’ Velvet Goldmine (1998), starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ewan McGregor, Toni Collette, Christian Bale and Eddie Izzard. Exact technical specs and region coding status for this release are unknown at the moment, but the preliminary release date set by the studio is December 13th. In 1998, the film was nominated for the prestigious Palme d’Or Award and won Best Artistic Contribution Award at the Cannes Film Festival.

Here comes a rare addition to the galleries. In 1990, Toni made her very first appearance on television on the long-running Australian soap “A Country Practice“. In the episode “The Sting, Part 1”, she played a homeless girl called Tracey, who, at 17, is expecting her third child (!) Original credit goes to austvclassics. The caps’ quality is not the very best, but a nice addition anyway.

As you can see, Toni Collette Online is sporting a brand new look to celebrate the site’s sixth anniversary this coming October 16. Since “United States of Tara” has come to an end, we can look forward to three new films, “Jesus Henry Christ”, “Foster” and “Mental”. One of Toni’s most recent feature films, “Foster”, will celebrate its world-premiere at this year’s Rome International Film Festival. Looking to adopt a child and unable to conceive a child of their own, the Morrison’s (Toni Collette and Ioan Gruffudd) lives are turned upside down when a 7 year old boy unexpectedly shows up on their doorstep. Foster co-stars Richard E Grant, Oscar winner Hayley Mills and newcomer Maurice Cole. In the wake of this news, a first still and poster have been released.
