Some great new video clips have been added to the archive – starting with the most recent promotion of last year’s “Krampus” and going back in time with promotional featurettes for “Little Miss Sunshine”, “Japanese Story”, “Changing Lanes” and “About A Boy”. Among the highlights is a 1998 appearance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien to promote the theatrical release of “Velvet Goldmine”. Many thanks to Tenaciously Procrastinate for the original upload. Enjoy the new clips.

Among the projects that Toni Collette has under her mantle for 2016/2017 is “Yellow Birds”, a contemporary war drama featuring a cast that includes Jennifer Aniston, Alden Ehrenreich, Jack Huston and Tye Sheridan. Deadline‘s Pete Hammond wrote about the film in his piece about its production company, Cinelou, with some interesting background and some praise for its acting: Although “Yellow Birds” is slated for 2017, the company plans to qualify it for this year’s Oscar race in several categories. I got a look at 11 minutes of it, and though it definitely has the feel of Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper, there also seems to be some strong female supporting roles for Aniston and Toni Collette that could figure into acting races if all goes well.

Varios selfies (yes, that’s the new form of on-set pictures :-) from the making of “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” have been posted these last couple of weeks. I’ve decided to add them to the photo gallery because they were posted by the film’s director, D.J. Caruso, and none other than Toni Collette herself on her Instagram, which you should check if you haven’t already. Click any of the previews below to launch the set pictures.

Once again it’s very quiet around Toni Collette, as she has proven time and again to successfully stay out of the limelight. Which doesn’t mean there’s nothing to look forward to. Since the beginning of 2016, Toni has wrapped both “Please Stand By” and “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage”. The former stars Dakota Fanning and deals with a young autistic woman who runs away from her caregiver in an attempt to submit her manuscript to a writing competition. The latter needs no introduction – Xander Cage is left for dead after an incident, though he secretly returns to action for a new, tough assignment with his handler Augustus Gibbons. Vin Diesel reprises his famous role with Samuel L. Jackson and Toni Collette in supporting roles (probably as agents?). This will make for a crowded year, which also sees the release of the Noomi Rapace starrer “Unlocked” and the announced “Jasper Jones”, “The Yellow Birds” and “Imperium” (with no further news on those except the initial announcements).

Over 1.000 Blu-Ray screencaptures from one of Toni’s most recent films, “Miss You Already”, have been added to the photo gallery. After the recently added “Glassland”, this is another powerful performance of another complicated woman. Drew Barrymore is a strong opposite player as her best friend, although I found the film’s storyline a bit formulaic and, unfortunately, predictable. But I’d still recommend it for Toni’s wonderful performance. “Miss You Already” has been released on the home video market in the UK on February 1 and will be released in the US on March 1. Also, screencaptures from the deleted scenes have been added as well.
