One of Toni’s most recent films, the big-screen adaptation of Craig Silvey’s bestselling Australian novel “Jasper Jones” has been released in Australia on DVD, Blu-Ray and on demand on July 07 after its theatrical release earlier this year. Unfortunately, the film directed by Rachel Perkins has not received a wide release outside of Australia yet, but here’s hoping. For those who are able to play Australian region code DVDs and Blu-Rays, or if you’re from Australia and haven’t seen it yet, make sure to grab your copy over at Madman Entertainment. Screencaptures from the Blu-Ray have been added to the photo gallery. An in-depth review and video clips will follow later this week.

Toni Collette’s Vocab Films and Radical Media are partnering to bring Julia Dahl’s novel Invisible City into series form with Collette having already written the pilot script. The actress optioned the book which is a psychological murder mystery set in Brooklyn’s old world Hasidic community. Invisible City is the first of Dahls’ many novels and follows an aspiring journalist, Rebekah, who is searching for her Jewish mother who had abandoned her and her Christian father to return to her religion. The journalist is asked to cover a story of a murdered Hasidic woman and that’s when she is immersed in this cloistered world where her mother grew up. The book has won numerous awards and, in 2014, The Boston Globe named it as one of the best of the year. Collette will serve as executive producer along with Jen Turner. Jon Kamen, Jon Doran, and Justin Wilkes serve as executive producers for Radical Media. “I love Julia Dahl’s novel because it’s about fighting for personal freedom and living an authentic life. It couldn’t be a more relevant time to tell this story about acceptance and integration, or lack thereof. These complex female characters are honest, flawed and inspiring. We can always use more of those,” Collette said in a statement. Deadline broke the news exclusively.

Channel 7 has released a first teaser for their upcoming miniseries “Blue Murder: Killer Cop”. “I kow more about criminals and how to catch them than any 10 other blokes in the country. Makes you wonder how I got here?” Richard Roxburgh, as crooked cop Roger Rogerson, asks this of the audience, in the first trailer released by Seven of its hotly-anticipated telemovie, Blue Murder: Killer Cop. It’s a bloody good question and has all the makings of the must watch true crime drama of the year — an unexpected but utterly compelling sequel to the original miniseries, which introduced the talents of Roxburgh to local audiences and will remind a new generation of the shocking past of one of Australia’s dodgiest detectives. Rogerson’s 2016 conviction on murder and commercial drug supply charges provided a stunning twist to this infamous crime tale, which finally brought down the former NSW detective after the 75-year-old and his accomplice, Glenn McNamara, 57, were found guilty of the murder of Jamie Gao during a drug deal gone wrong. After the duo’s arrest, producers of the first Blue Murder series immediately got to work on a sequel, which now looks to be fast-tracked to air by Channel 7 and co-stars Toni Collette, Love Child’s Andy Ryan and Hyde and Seek star, Matt Nable.

Momentum Pictures has launched the official theatrical trailer for “Fun Mom Dinner”, which will release US theaters and on-demand platforms on August 4, 2017. Four moms, whose only common ground is their kids’ preschool class, decide to get together for a harmless “fun mom dinner.” The night begins as a disaster, but the combination of alcohol, karaoke, and a cute bartender, leads to an unforgettable night where these seemingly different women realize they have more in common than motherhood and men. Additionally, they have posted an on-set interview with Toni Collette and Katie Aselton, which can be found in the video archive. Screencaptures from both the interview and the trailer have been added to the photo gallery.
